Made mainly from high grade stainless steel, ball bearing hinges have always been more expensive than the traditional plain steel butt hinge or brass hinge, typically used on standard internal 35mm doors. However, manufacturers have now started to produce ball bearing hinges from plain steel in plated finishes. With the consequent reduction in price we forecast that more and more of these type of hinges will be used in residential situations.

The 76mm x 50mm steel 2 ball bearing hinge is available in 4 plated finishes; electro brass, polished chrome, satin chrome and satin nickel.
Internal Use Only
These hinges are an alternative to stainless steel hinges and are made from steel which is not suited to external use. If used on external doors they will potentially, over time begin to exhibit patches of rust around the knuckle. For external doors use the better quality stainless steel versions.
