The Excel Hardware Privacy Guardian Door Knob Set SSS has a style widely used in America and some parts of Europe – the American style passage knob set is not so common here in the UK. All doors must be prepared with a 51mm diameter hole at 70mm from the door edge to use this door knob set.
Supplied with Latch
The knob set has a satin stainless steel finish. Each set comes complete with a 70mm backset mortice latch, all necessary fittings and full fitting instructions.
Privacy Locking Set
This set has a bathroom privacy locking function –Â the external knob on the privacy set has an emergency release, whilst the inner knob has a centrally located privacy turn.
There are also other options available; an entrance locking set (this has a centrally located locking turn and is unlocked from the outside by the turn of a key) and a passage set (suitable for internal doors and as it is a non-locking knob set, it allows free access at all times).Â
Note of Caution
Once fitted to a door this type of knob set is difficult to replace, the latch is specific to the American style; and the 51mm hole in the door makes it impossible to fit anything other than American specification knob and lever sets.Â
