The Yale 8001 window bolt is a particularly secure and robust being morticed into the window frame. It is operated by the familiar Yale star key, which is available in a standard or extended length.

Window Bolt Installation

Mortice bolts are best installed during the manufacture of the window; however, they can be fitted to existing windows. To fit them you will require a 10mm & 16mm drill bits, 19mm chisel and a pozidrive screwdriver. Before attempting to install them, familiarize yourself with their operation and check the position of the glass and any window seals, ensuring there is enough room to install them.
