The Union 1439 cast rim lock is a large case heavy duty lock intended for external doors and heavier internal doors. On external doors it should be combined with a BS rated deadlock to meet minimum insurance company requirements.

Heavy Duty Lock

The Union 1439 is intended for timber doors up to 50mm thick, inward opening only; with heavy springing it will accept heavy antique ironwork rim knobs as a matter of course. The heavy duty cast steel case and keep are finished in black enamel.

Bolt Operation Turn

The deadbolt is locked or unlocked by key from either side, whilst the latchbolt is withdrawn by the turn of a knob from either side.

Left or Right Handed

Please take care to select the correct hand of lock for your door.  The handing refers to the hinge positioning on the door.  The product  picture shown is a left hand lock, which means the hinges are on the left hand side of the door and the lock on the right hand side.
