The simple spring door stop is a popular way of stopping doors from swinging into walls or tiles and causing damage and can be seen in many modern homes. It has a plastic tip and is available in electro brass plated or bright nickel plated finish for either a traditional or modern interior.

Spring Style

Although it is called a spring door stop, it will only bend from side to side, not back and forward, so it will stop the door firmly and will not move backwards or forwards. This will stop the door from banging into furniture or crashing into walls or tiles where the door handle could create a large hole.

Correct Fitting

Any door stop should ideally be positioned about 150mm to 200mm from the un-hinged edge of the door. If it is fixed any closer to the edge than this, then the door stop would act as a leverage point and put undue stress on the hinges.
