How Does it Work

Dorguard is a simple, reliable electronic device that holds a fire door open in any position and then automatically releases the door should a fire alarm sound. The unit’s rubber plunger/stopper is in contact with the floor and unlike other magnetic devices can hold the door in any selected position.  When a fire alarm sounds the internal audio-electronic device signals the plunger to retract and the door is able to close, using the door closer fitted to the door.  Dorgard is a battery operated device and there is no need for complex and expensive wiring.
