The Plain Victorian Letter Plate has clean straight lines and would be suitable for any style of front door. It has a hinged and sprung flap which pushes inwards.

Classic Plated Finishes

The Plain Victorian Letter Plate is available in polished brass, polished chrome, satin chrome and ‘Everbrite’ stainless brass. The ‘Everbrite’ finish as a unique 25 year guarantee. Stainless Brassware ‘Everbrite’ is produced by a process known as PVD (physical vapour deposition). The process involves plating with zirconium in a vacuum chamber at high temperature. The resulting finish has a highly polished brass look, which is impervious to oxidation or tarnishing.  The PVD finish is only available in the 'polished brass colour'.

Care and Maintenance

Polished brass requires some care to keep in good condition in external conditions. Dirty deposits should be removed with a mild soapy solution and the letter plate dried thoroughly, followed by a light coating of wax. This will help to protect the clear lacquer coating which is protecting the polished brass from tarnishing. Chrome is an excellent material for outside as it is very durable and hardwearing although it would benefit from dirty marks being removed with mild soap and water. The ‘Everbrite’ finish has a 25 year guarantee against tarnishing so is absolutely perfect for outside; however, removal of dirty marks with soap and water will keep it looking pristine.

This is our budget version of this letter plate.  It is available in 254mm x 76mm size in Polished Brass only.  This budget version offers an economical and attractive solution to improving the look of your external door.
