Fits Yale Type Rim Cylinders
The Victorian Cylinder Pull is a classically styled pull which has a very practical use. It fits around a Yale type cylinder used on a nightlatch, typically on a front door, and is used to pull the door closed from the outside. The cylinder hole is stepped at 32mm/30mm diameter to accept standard yale 1109 type rim cylinder, it can also be used with ERA836 cylinders, ASEC rim cylinders, Legge 816 rim cylinders and Bird rim cylinders.
A cylinder pull is particularly useful if there is no door handle or centre door knob on the external door which would be used to pull it closed. The cylinder pull can be grasped from the bottom and pulled to close the door securely.
Polished brass and polished chrome are the two most popular finishes for this cylinder pull. It is also available in satin chrome, but other special finishes can be supplied if required – please contact customer services. Usually a cylinder pull would be matched to the other accessories on an external door, such as a bell push, letterplate and door knocker. Polished brass would require a little more care and attention than a chrome cylinder pull, but a clean with mild soapy water and a light coating of wax every so often will keep it in good condition. If you have a particularly exposed external door then consider using chrome fittings as these will fare better over time.
