The Union 1445 rim lock is commonly found in cottage style properties on doors which are not thick enough to accept mortice latches. They will often be found painted the same colour as the door.

Rim Lock Application & Operation

The Union 1445 rim lock is suitable for timber doors up to 45mm thick, hinged on either the left or the right hand side, as the keyway is double handed. The deadbolt is locked and unlocked by the turn of the key from either inside or outside, whilst the latchbolt is retracted by the turn of a knob from either side.
