The standard roller bolt nightlatch is preferred for flat front doors and dwelling with only one entrance. When the door closes the roller bolt will engage but not deadlock. The deadlock function does not operate until either the key is turned externally or the internal lever is rotated.  Hence, it is impossible to lock yourself out of your own flat, something that happens in many instances when the door closer, closes the door automatically.

Added Security

To add additional security to any flat front door the best solution is to use a British Standard cylinder & turn deadlock, preferably to BS8621. This gives the required external security but allows easy escape through the door in cases of emergency. Please refer to related products.

Brass or Chrome Finishes

The standard case roller bolt nightlatch which has a cylinder backset of 60mm is available in polished chrome, satin chrome and polished brass plate. Each lock comes with a cylinder in a matching finish.

Cylinder Pull Addition

For ease of use we always recommend the fitting of a cylinder pull to aid closing the door, however, sometimes this is not necessary when the door is fitted with a closer. Please see related products.
