Regency Design Period
The Delamain DL257B beaded knob on a long backplate is often referred to as Regency Suite. The long shaped backplate, 248mm x 50mm is elegant and distinctive and at home in a classical period, particularly Georgian or Regency, interior. Only available in brass the beaded knobset is available in latch, lock or bathroom configuration. As with all other knob sets whether on a backplate or rose, we suggest using mortice locks and latches with at least a 57mm backset.
The period of architecture and design we can loosely term Regency spans the first thirty years of the 19th century and in many respects it is a natural continuation of the Georgian style which preceded it. Regency architecture and design, was classical in nature and it used the philosophy and traditional designs of Greek and Roman architecture. Today Regency door furniture is typified by its beaded edge design.
