The Ludlow Foundries LF5594 ball knob furniture is a traditional design 45mm diameter ball knob on a 60mm diameter base rose.  Finished in Ludlow black antique it is a classically found in boot rooms, outhouses, country cottages, barn conversions and the like.

Choice of Latch or Lock

Knob furniture is always best when fitted to 76mm case or deeper locks and latches, you should always attempt to have the centre of the knob at least 57mm away from the edge of the door, more if possible.  Fitting knobs to the mid-rail of a door allows deep horizontal locks and latches to be used and the knob can be positioned up to 120mm away from the edge of the door.

Ludlow Black Antique Finish

Malleable wrought iron is by its very nature susceptible to rusting and should be cared for accordingly, it will require a regular maintenance routine which should include a light application of oil and an occasional application of clear wax.  For these vary reasons, black antique furniture is not recommended for coastal areas, although it is often used on coastal properties.
