From the Anvil’s Round Knob is an ideal piece of door furniture for period homes and listed properties. Developed by expert blacksmiths using old English production techniques, this is a solid, reliable knob with a unique look and fresh feel.
The knob is 1 ¾” in diameter and 3” long. The diameter of the rose is just under 3”. One of the benefits of this product is that it features a loose rose which can be removed if you want to use the knob with a rim or mortice lock. Each set comes complete with fixing screws, which are concealed for improved appearance, and two escutcheons. Heavy-duty latches or locks are recommended for maximum efficiency.
The Round Knob is available in two finishes, beeswax or traditional black. The beeswax knob is finished with a special wax that imparts a subtle matt richness to the metal. It is best fitted internally as it is liable to rust if fitted outside. The traditional black finish is black powder coated and has a slight sheen making it more resistant to corrosion and more suitable for use on external doors although it must still be cleaned and coated in wax to retain its appearance and resistance to rust. PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE KNOBS ARE HAND MADE AND AS SUCH WILL ALL BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT IN APPEARANCE. THE KNOB MAY BE SMOOTHER THAN THE ROSE FOR COMFORTABLE HANDLING AND THE SHEEN MAY BE MORE OBVIOUS ON THE ROSE. THESE INCONSISTENCIES GIVE THIS KNOB ITS UNIQUE HANDMADE QUALITY.
From the Anvil have seated themselves at the forefront of hand crafted metal design after ten years in the industry. Great care and detail is taken with each product. Each Round Knob has been hand-forged by a highly experienced blacksmith, which means that every knob has a slightly different look and character.
