Frelan Hardware Brass Parliament Hinge

This parliament hinge is a superior quality hinge over the standard parliament hinge. It is produced to give a more aesthetic appearance on the door due to its reduced height knuckle. Parliament hinges are commonly used on French doors or doors which need to clear an obstacle when opened, such as a brick wall or windowboard.

High Maximum Projection

All three versions of the hinge are 102mm high. The 102mm wide version of the hinge will give an approximate clearance of 50mm, whilst the 125mm wide hinge will give an approximate clearance of 75mm and the 152mm wide hinge will give an approximate clearance of 100mm.

Light Door Weight Capacity

By its very design the parliament hinge is not capable of carrying particularly heavy doors. We would recommend no more than 15-20Kg is carried on three hinges and if in any doubt a fourth hinge should be added to any leaf. For heavier doors or doors over 750mm wide, full projection hinges should be considered.

Extra Security

For external outward opening doors (where the hinge knuckle is showing on the outside of the door)  we would recommend a pair of hinge bolts per door leaf for added security.
