Description
The stainless steel thrust bearing hinge is designed for heavy doors and heavy usage doors, it will typically be found on office doors but can equally be used on heavy domestic doors. It is available in polished or satin stainless steel.
Fire Door Rated Hinge
The stainless steel thrust bearing hinge has been successfully tested to BSEN 1935:2001 and achieved a Grade 13 rating. This means; It can be used on 1 hour fire doors and doors and doors with an adjusted door weight of 120Kg. To meet the weight capacity and fire door approval 3 hinges must be used on each door.Adjusted Door Weight
The weight carrying capacity of any hinge is quoted based on 3 hinges being fitted to the door and is an adjusted door weight. The actual weight of the door should be adjusted, added too, for the following:
Excessively heavy use +10
Standard door closer +20%
Backcheck door closer +75%
Width over 1000mm up to +40%
For example; a 60Kg door fitted with a standard door closer and deemed to be in a heavy usage area, should be considered to have an adjusted door weight of 60Kg + 12Kg + 6Kg = 78Kg.
PVD Brass Finish
The stainless steel thrust bearing hinge is also available, to special order, in PVD plated brass, which is a 25 year guaranteed finish.
