Description
The Sword Hinge Front from Ludlow Foundries is a false front and is perfect for traditional properties such as cottages, manor houses and old public houses. The hinge front features a charming curled design at the ‘handle’ of the sword and has a bulbous, curved end.
The Hinge Front is used for decorative purposes and usually sits on top of the butt hinge that supports the door. The Sword Hinge is used for support.
Maintenance Essential
The Sword Hinge Front will require a reasonably strict maintenance program in order to retain its magnificent appearance. Malleable wrought iron is liable to rust so you need to make sure it is regularly oiled using a cloth. An occasional clean with clear wax will also be required. If you live near the coast a more thorough cleaning program will be required. Iron is more vulnerable to sea air.
