The T-Hinge from Isis Ironmongery is a charming piece of traditional door ware that is based on traditional designs from the 17th and 18th century. It is most popularly used in cottages, manor houses and other listed buildings. Hand-forged T-Hinge

The T-Hinge is 463mm in length, making it ideal for bigger, chunkier doors. The butt length is 135mm and the butt width is 38mm. No two hinges are alike because each has been individually hand-forged and given characteristic hammer blows along the edges. This gives each hinge a charming uniqueness that you won’t find with machine made products.

Special Beeswax Finish

The final production process for this traditional t-hinge is to dip it in beeswax. This imparts a highly protective coating to the hinge, meaning it will withstand the harshest of environments. We recommend a firm buffing with a smooth cloth to develop a lovely sheen on the latch and a yearly application of beeswax to maintain the original look.
