The Ludlow Foundries traditional black antique lever handle on backplate is based on a popular and age old design of black antique lever furniture.  Its curved knotted end handle is a classic design copied by many manufacturers.

Standard Plates and Euro Profile

The traditional lever handle is available in 4 variants; standard lock, latch, bathroom or Euro cylinder profile.  The Euro cylinder option is 47.5mm centres, which means it will fit standard UK Euro lock cases, such as Union, Chubb and Eurospec.  All the lever backplate types are sprung and the Euro profile version is not suitable for multipoint locks.

Ludlow Black Antique Finish

Malleable wrought iron is by its very nature susceptible to rusting and should be cared for accordingly.   It will require a regular maintenance routine which should include a light application of oil and an occasional application of clear wax.  For these very reasons, black antique furniture is not recommended for external use in coastal areas, although it is often seen on seafront properties.
