Often referred to, as ‘Tonk’ or ‘Library’ strip, the Cooke Brothers bookcase strip is a very popular solution for shelving projects. Simplicity of installation and the ease with which the shelf heights can be adjusted see it being used by everyone from DIY enthusiasts, shopfitters, to joinery companies and furniture manufactures to provide storage facilities in the home, office or high street retailer.

Support Studs

The flat bookcase strip (7470) is capable of taking two different styles of shelf support stud. The single slot fixing flat stud (7471) or the higher load bearing two slot fixing double flat stud (7475). Flat studs are produced from steel, brass or stainless steel.  Please refer to related products.

Plated Finishes on Steel

The Cooke Brothers flat bookcase strip is produced from 3 base materials; steel, brass or aluminium and then plated, painted or anodised to produce the finish required.  It should be noted that the Bronze Antique finish on steel is a very dark brown almost black finish, whilst the Antique Bronze finish on the aluminium strip is a softer almost antique brass finish.

Standard Lengths

The standard stock length is 1829mm (6ft). However, special lengths can be produced to order for volumes in excess of 300 metres. Please contact customer services for information on prices and lead times for special lengths.
