Safety & Security
A latching lock will fasten upon closing and the key will be needed to open it. This would suit a till drawer or drugs cabinet. For extra protection, a cabinet deadlock will require a turn of the key to secure the door as well as reopening.
Barrel Locks
Traditionally, cabinet locks were fitted to the back of the cabinet drawer or cupboard and a keyhole slot cut through the door. Today, the lock most commonly incorporates a barrel, similar to a filing cabinet lock. Traditional cabinet locks can be cut flush into the door face, surface-mounted or attached as a mortice lock.
