Nylon is very strong, light and easy to mould into different shapes, so therefore a very practical material for
door handles and accessories such as coat hooks. Door handles on backplate and door handles on rose in the 'return
to door' design (the handle projects from the rose then curves into a straight handle and curves inward towards the
door) are suitable for any situation. This design generally satisfies the requirements contained within BS8300 and
Approved Document "M" of the Building Regulations, making it suitable for people with disabilities.
Nylon door furniture and accessories can be made in eleven different colours from black and white to bright
red. The brighter colours are particularly well suited to playschools, schools and childrens wards in hospitals
where a bright and cheerful environment is all important for happy youngsters to thrive. Nylon does not stain,
so retains its sharp colour and, usually designed in rounded shapes for door handles, is comfortable and warm
to the touch.
Push plates with square corners or curved ends and kickplates fashioned from nylon add extra protection to
doors in heavy wear areas and are complementary partners to practical round bar pull handles. For hospitals,
nylon push plates on swing doors are convenient when hands are full. They are extremely practical, easy to
clean in order to meet the demanding hygiene standards and are extremely durable to withstand heavy wear and
continual use.
