Handles4Doors is a family-run business situated just outside Farnham in the rolling fields of the Surrey countryside. The company is run by husband and wife team Graham and Suzanne Faulkner, who after 30 years in the workforce decided it was now or never if they wanted to be independent and fulfil their dream of running their own business. With Graham’s background in engineering and sales and Suzanne’s experience of finance and admin, they went ahead and formed Acorn Ironmongery Ltd in March 2002 to sell architectural ironmongery to the trade and retail market.
Within 12 months two former colleagues had joined them and together they quadrupled turnover in 4 ½ years of trading. It became apparent to Graham and Suzanne that there was a growing need for a good retail service as many customers commented that the choice of window and door furniture in the big DIY sheds was limited and, quite frankly, pretty awful. It was this realisation that inspired Acorn to develop a website to reach out to a larger client base. The range of door handles, window furniture and other ironmongery on the market is so vast that it was felt that the only way to present the products in this retail sector was via an ordered, practical and accessible e-commerce website. Thus www.handles4doors.co.uk was born.
With the popularity of home design and improvement TV shows growing all the time and the current trend for ‘improving not moving’ ,we recognise that there are many home developers and project managers who are searching for stunning door handles, cupboard handles, door knobs and more to add that extra special finishing touch to a project. With over 50 years industry experience between them, our sales and technical team can give reliable, up-to-date advice and recommendations, as well as advise on suitable applications with regard to current building regulations.

Handles4Doors is very much a family business with son Ben Faulkner as Sales Director and daughter Sophy Faulkner as Despatch and Administration Manager. Ben has just finished the first year of his Guild of Architectural Ironmongers Diploma, a recognised industry qualification, which he passed with a credit.
We have gone from strength to strength since our initial launch in July 2007. New products are constantly being added to the site and our list of suppliers continues to grow as more and more companies want to get sell their goods through us. In September 2008 Simon Rickwood joined the company as Web Content Manager and Copywriter. His role is to look after all aspects of the site, such as content, maintenance and marketing and keep it looking fresh and up to date for regular customers, as well as any new visitors to the site.
Our Future
Handles4Doors have just re-launched the site with a stunning new design that will entice more visitors, allow them to browse more products than ever and enjoy a host of new services. Developed by Mad Productions, the new design is incredibly dynamic, with a sleek look and all the functionality expected of a modern e-commerce website.
Expanding Our Ranges
It’s an exciting time for us and we are moving into 2010 with great excitement. We are adding more and more kitchen products that have so far proved very popular. With German giants Hafele and Hettich now working closely with Handles4Doors we are able to supply a number of innovative, high quality products such as kitchen pull outs, railing systems, swing out corner units, kitchen handles and lighting, as well as a whole host of kitchen accessories.
