Description
The Georgian Suite Casement Window Fastener has the traditional rope design along the centre of the fastener to indicate its Georgian style. This fastener has a matching window stay in our Window Stays section.
Various Options
The Georgian window fastener is available in three different options. The standard fastener comes complete with two options, a mortice plate and a hook plate, and will fit traditional casement windows. The hook plate is required if you have flush fitting windows such as the classic cottage windows, where there is no window frame in which to fit a mortice plate. Both fittings are included with the standard fastener for your convenience.
The wedge fastener is suitable for sealed windows as the closing action of the fastener pulls the window into the seal to make for a very secure fitting.
Polished Brass Finish
The Georgian window fastener is traditionally made from solid brass with a polished brass finish which is then clear lacquered to resist corrosion. Polished brass will require some light cleaning and care not to damage the lacquer, as this is the protective coating on the raw brass, which if damaged will then allow the brass to discolour. A good quality lacquer should protect your casement fasteners for many years.
