Door Bells - Mechanical
Before the advent of batteries, transformers and wireless bell technology, the old fashion method of announcing your arrival at a front door was to pull on a bell pull. The pulling action via a series of mechanical wires and pulleys rang the butler’s bell.
Traditional Butler’s Bell
The traditional butler’s bell mounted on a large clock spring is wall mounted and attached to the bell pull via a fixed mechanical wire. Pulling on the bell pull produces a classic ringing sound which is reminiscent of old Edwardian and Victorian houses. Images of 'Upstairs Downstairs' and Mr Hudson are one of the side effects of fitting a mechanical bell. Never having to change the batteries is another.
