Mortice Bathroom Locks
As the name suggests mortice bathroom locks are used for bathroom and en-suite doors where privacy is required. In place of the standard key mechanism a 5mm follower throws the deadbolt to lock the door. All UK bathroom door furniture is normally available with a 5mm square spindle; however some European furniture uses an 8mm spindle. If purchased from us you will not have a problem as all the bathroom lever sets and turns we sell utilise a 5mm spindle. If they don’t we will make it very clear.
Tubular Bathroom Deadbolts
With the increasing popularity of lever handles on round roses and a separate bathroom turn and release, many of the manufacturers have introduced a tubular bathroom deadbolt, which is very similar in appearance to a tubular latch. However, instead of the latch function there is a deadbolt function operated by a 5mm square follower. It’s easier to fit than a full lock and it allows the position of the bathroom turn to be varied, by customer preference, either above or below the lever handle.
