Cabinet & Drawer Locks
This type is generally used to lock cabinet doors and drawers. They range from one lever locks (a lock which has only one key variation) up to five lever locks which have several thousand key alternatives.
The lock can be latching or deadlocking. A latching system will slam shut and you will need the key to open it again. A typical application for this lock is a till drawer or drugs cabinet. Deadlocking cabinet locks require a turn of the key to secure the door.
Traditional Fittings
Most commonly today the lock system incorporates a barrel, similar to a filing cabinet lock. However, more traditionally, cabinet locks were fitted to the back of the drawer or cupboard and a keyhole slot is cut through the door.
Traditional cabinet locks can be surface mounted, cut flush into the door face or morticed into the edge of the door. If you require assistance selecting or replacing a cabinet lock please don’t hesitate to the contact customer services team for assistance.
